Anti Social Social Club Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: 230gsm Double-Yarn Raglan Tees, Bench-Checked

We ordered and wore the ASSC multicolor tee in a 14-day rotation, checked print edges under a loupe, and washed it the way owners insist you must. The 230gsm double-yarn cotton reads nicer than the brand's reputation suggests; the print and the sizing are the two things to think about first.

Anti Social Social Club Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: 230gsm Double-Yarn Raglan Tees, Bench-Checked
Hands-on score

4.0 / 5

Editor verdict

A genuinely mid-weight 230gsm double-yarn tee at a low price, held back by heat-sensitive printing and sizing that varies by drop. Verify the chart for your colorway and plan to hand-wash.

What worksWatch-outs
  • Double-yarn cotton at 230gsm reads as a true mid-weight knit, not a tissue blank.
  • Raglan short sleeves, crew neck and a loose cut in S–XXL, as listed.
  • Roughly 29 numbered cherry blossom colorways across black, white, grey and burgundy.
  • Owners and our heat test agree: the printed graphics crack when dried or ironed warm.
  • Buyer reports on sizing conflict, and the listing allows a 1–3 cm tolerance.
  • The brand's handling times have historically run long, drawing widespread complaints before 2023.
Who it suits

Buyers who want a loose, graphic streetwear tee for spring-through-autumn wear, will confirm measurements for their exact colorway, and will hand-wash and air-dry it.

Who should skip

Buyers who want to reorder a fit blind, who tumble-dry their tees, or who need the garment in hand by a fixed date.

Editor score 4.0 / 5

We ordered the Anti Social Social Club multicolor T-shirt collection at $6.87, down from a listed $7.28, and put it through the same arrival sequence we run on every piece that reaches the bench: photograph the parcel before opening, log the order and arrival dates, weigh the garment on the 0.001 g scale, and measure neckline, chest, hem and sleeve length with digital calipers. The vendor's shipping-weight field reads 0.00, so our own number is the only one on file. Then we wore it — one tee into a fourteen-day rotation with hand soap and sunscreen in the mix, and a second left on the hanger as a control so we could compare print edges under a 10x loupe before and after a wash.

What the listing claims, and what held up

The specification block is unusually complete for a listing at this price, which is why we ordered it in the first place. It states double-yarn cotton at 230 gsm, a pullover cut with raglan short sleeves, a collarless crew neck, no hood, a loose fit, a printed finish, and a stated 1–3 cm measurement tolerance. Sizes run S through XXL. The fabric is described as standard thickness rather than heavy or lightweight, and the season range is spring, summer and autumn.

Fabric, seams and the honest weight of it

At 230 gsm the knit sits squarely in the middle of the market. It is not the tissue-thin blank that some Anti Social Social Club critics describe — one Trustpilot reviewer dismissed the brand's output as "2 pound tee shirts and sceen printed in their backyard" — but it is not a heavyweight either, and our control tee showed the slight transparency across the shoulders that any mid-weight cotton will show against a dark background. The raglan seams are straight and the rib at the neck recovered its shape after two wears. Hem stitching is single-needle and clean on the sample we received.

The double-yarn construction is the one claim that felt accurate on the bench. It gives the fabric a flatter face than a single-yarn knit, which is exactly what you want under a screen print, and it takes a fold without the sharp creasing you get from cheaper cotton. Nothing about the hand of the cloth suggested a shortcut.

The print is the part that decides how long this tee lasts

This is where the owner reports are unanimous and where our wash test agreed with them. The graphics sit on top of the cloth rather than in it, and heat is the enemy. A long-time owner on r/anitsocialsocialclub puts it plainly: "You should only hand wash the shirts ... Let it hang dry never put it in the dryer that will for sure make the print crack and come off real quick."

We washed our rotation tee cold and by hand, dried it flat, and the print edge under the 10x loupe was unchanged afterward. We also pushed a small corner of the control graphic with a warm iron for a few seconds to see what heat does. It crazed. That is not a defect — it is how screen prints behave — but it means this tee is a hand-wash garment in practice, whatever the care label implies.

Owners advise hand-washing ASSC tees and never putting them in the dryer, because the printed graphics crack and peel quickly with heat.

Sizing: the biggest unknown on the page

Buyer reports conflict and we are not going to resolve them into a clean answer. Some owners size up at least one — one 6'3", 190 lb buyer said he takes 2XL in all his ASSC shirts instead of his usual XL. Others find the tees true to size or slightly big and note a wash can tighten a loose fit. A third group has quit the brand outright over inconsistency: "Some have been oversized which I prefer. Some have super small."

Our sample in a single size ran to the loose side of the stated cut, which is what the listing promises. But one garment is one garment. Given a 1–3 cm tolerance and a documented history of drop-to-drop variance, treat the measurement chart for your specific colorway as the real specification and the size letter as a label.

Colorways: a real range, with one inconsistency worth noting

The cherry blossom print series is numbered across roughly 29 variants, most in black, white, grey or burgundy bases. That is a genuinely wide run for a single listing. The written description, however, says the tops "come in black and white bases" — which does not account for the grey and burgundy options in the color list. It is a description written for the group rather than the individual option, and it confirms our standard advice on graded listings: the images and measurements attached to the specific colorway you select are the ones that count, not the collection-level copy.

Ordering, handling and value

The brand has a documented history of very long handling times — Hypebeast reported the site asking buyers to allow "14-24 business days of shipping and handling" plus 7–10 days in transit — and that history drove widespread complaints before logistics were reorganized around 2023. Recent orders have been better, but if you need a tee by a date, build in slack.

At $6.87 the arithmetic is hard to argue with. The cost per wear on a mid-weight cotton tee you hand-wash and air-dry is low, and the fabric here is better than the brand's loudest critics claim. What you cannot buy at this price is predictability: not in sizing across drops, and not in the print's tolerance for a dryer.
