Iris Lindqvist handles sourcing research and vendor-claim checks at Jadeship, maintaining files on descriptions of material, treatment and origin over time. Listings and memos from Burmese, Guatemalan, Siberian and British Columbia sources are read and their claims restated in plain English for reviews. Each review draws on the current description, archived versions of the same listing and published laboratory memos, checked claim by claim against bench readings. A two-year archive of text and pricing shows when descriptions change and whether those changes coincide with a price move.
How I test
For each review, Iris gathers the vendor's current description, archived versions of the same listing and any laboratory memo the vendor publishes. Each claim is checked against the desk's bench readings. Listing text and prices are retained in a two-year archive to show when a description changed and whether its price changed at the same time.
